Uma Thurman will star in Eloise in Paris, an adaptation of the children’s novel series, reports Variety.
Thurman will play Nanny, caretaker of the precocious title character who was the central figure in the series written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hillary Knight.
Production will begin filming in June in London, Paris and New York. Charles Shyer is directing for Handmade Films, and he wrote the script with his daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer and Larry Spencer.
Handmade hopes to hatch a film series from the Eloise books and has already begun developing the follow-up, Eloise Goes to Hollywood.
