Michael Chiklis Joins Eagle Eye

Michael Chiklis has joined the cast of Eagle Eye, the D.J. Caruso-directed thriller for DreamWorks, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Chiklis (“The Shield,” the “Fantastic Four” films) will play the U.S. secretary of defense in the story that revolves around a slacker (Shia LaBeouf) and a single mother (Michelle Monaghan) who form an unlikely partnership when they are framed as terrorists and forced to become members of a cell with plans to carry out a political assassination.

Along with LaBeouf and Monaghan, Chiklis joins Billy Bob Thornton, Rosario Dawson, Anthony Azizi and Anthony Mackie in the film, which has resumed production after being on hiatus for the holidays. The film is scheduled to wrap in February.

Hillary Seitz wrote the latest draft of the film, with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci executive producing through their DreamWorks-based company. Pat Crowley and Ed McDonnell also are producing.
