Jeffrey Tambor Joins Ben Affleck in The Accountant

JeffreyTambor2After his Golden Globe win for Amazon’s “Transparent,” The Hollywood Reporter brings word that actor Jeffrey Tambor is taking a victory lap by getting cast opposite Ben Affleck in Warner Bros.’ assassin thriller The Accountant.

Tambor will reportedly play a mob accountant who also serves as Affleck’s character’s mentor. The actor is best known for his recurring roles on “Arrested Development” and “The Larry Sanders Show,” as well as the Hellboy and Hangover franchises. The second season of “Transparent” is scheduled for later this year.

Based on the script by Bill DuBuque, The Accountant centers on a mild-mannered accountant (Affleck) who moonlights as a lethal assassin. Anna Kendrick, John Bernthal and J.K. Simmons are also set to co-star in the film, which will be directed by Gavin O’Connor (Jane Got a Gun).

Kevin Scott Frakes, Lynette Howell, Raj Brinder Singh and Mark Williams are producing The Accountant with Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda overseeing. The film is currently in pre-production with shooting set for Atlanta later this year.
