American Sniper to Debut in IMAX Theaters January 16

The IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures announced today that American Sniper, the newest film from director Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and released into domestic IMAX theatres on Jan.16, 2015 — the same day Warner Bros. expands the film nationwide from its limited release.

The IMAX release of American Sniper will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
