Ron Perlman (Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Hellboy) and Lauren German (Hostel: Part II) will star in Thomas Jane’s directorial debut, The Dark Country, a noir thriller that is being shot in 3-D high definition, as well as 2-D high-def.
Tab Murphy (Tarzan) wrote the script, which concerns a couple who find their honeymoon to be a hellish adventure. The film has just begun shooting in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Dark Country is being produced by Hyde Park Entertainment and Stage 6 Films, the newly created production arm of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group. Hyde Park’s Patrick Aiello and Ashok Amritraj are producing.
The film will be released by one of Sony’s theatrical labels, and it is one of the first films being shot simultaneously in 3-D and 2-D.
