Goal 3 Gets a Director

The first movie barely made $4 million domestically and the second movie hasn’t been released in the United States yet, but that’s not stopping producer Mike Jeffries from finishing his soccer trilogy with Goal 3, having brought on music video and commercial director Andy Morahan to helm the conclusion that follows Mexican player Santiago Munez to the 2006 World Cup. Kuno Becker will be returning to reprise the character for the third time with Leo Gregory, JJ Feild and Kasia Smutniak, Nick Moran, Anya Lahiri, Gary Lewis, Christopher Fairbank, Ori Pfeffer, Antonia Bernath, Gabrielle Richens, Tamer Hassan and Tereza Srbova rounding out the cast. Written by Jeffries and Piers Ashworth, the film will be shot in Nottingham, blended with actual footage shot at last year’s World Cup in Germany of British stars David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard. Plans are to release the movie in the summer of 2008.
