Bruce Dern is making his feature directorial debut with the indie drama Hart’s Location — and starring for the first time with daughter Laura Dern and ex-wife Diane Ladd.
The film is set to be shot in Louisiana in February, with Dern producing via his Harry Rose Productions along with Wendy Guerrero and Ashley Reed.
The story, penned by Reed, centers on a daughter attempting to regain custody of her son and seeking out her father — who left her when she was 3 years old.
Bruce has worked with Ladd on Mrs. Munck, which she directed. Laura worked with her mother on Rambling Rose, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore and Wild at Heart.
