Universal has bought Girly Style, a pitch from Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody.
Mason Novick is on board to produce “Girly,” described as a female-driven comedy set at a college.
Novick discovered Cody’s quirky writing style on a blog, and upon learning she also had written a novel, helped her secure a literary agent. Cody’s comedic memoir, “Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper,” was published by Gotham in December.
