Hilary Duff, Ellen Burstyn, Evan Ross and Michael Murphy will star in Nancy Bardawil’s interracial teen romance Greta for Whitewater Films.
Duff will play the title role of a waitress who falls for an ambitious cook (Ross) at the restaurant where they work. But as their summer romance heats up, she has to overcome the concerns of her grandparents (Burstyn, Murphy) about her boyfriend’s criminal past.
The comic drama is now shooting in New Jersey.
Greta is produced by Whitewater’s Rick Rosenthal (director of Halloween: Resurrection and Bad Boys), Douglas Sutherland and Gary Dean Simpson. The film marks writer Michael Gilvary and music video helmer Bardawil’s feature debuts.
