McCormick Helming Stepfather Remake

Nelson McCormick will direct Screen Gems’ remake of The Stepfather, reports Variety.

The story centers on a teenage boy who discovers his new stepfather is a serial killer who has murdered multiple families. The script, by Joe Cardone, takes a modern spin on the 1987 thriller of the same name that starred Terry O’Quinn.

Greg Mooradian and Mark Morgan of Maverick Films are producing.

McCormick recently wrapped production of Screen Gems’ Prom Night, which stars Brittany Snow, Idris Elba and Johnathon Schaech and opens April 11.
