Disney has acquired Brothers, a pitch for a Tim Allen comedy vehicle that Allen will write with Matt Carroll.
The story concerns a racially mixed pair of adopted brothers who are framed for a crime and forced to team up.
Allen, who recently wrapped the David Mamet-directed Redbelt for Sony Pictures Classics, just committed to playing the title character in indie comedy The Six Wives of Henry Lefay.
Carroll, who most recently sold the script Random Acts of Cruelty to Sony and Escape Artists, worked for several years in development for Allen.
