Wigg Visits Ghost Town and Has Pretty Bird

“Saturday Night Live” and Knocked Up star Kristen Wiig has landed two film roles.

First, she will join the cast of the DreamWorks’ Ghost Town, starring Ricky Gervais and Greg Kinnear.

Wiig will play the surgeon of Gervais’ character in the David Koepp-directed comedy, which centers on a dentist (Gervais) who has a near-death experience during routine surgery and gains the ability to see dead people who ask him for help in contacting the living.

She also has been cast as the female lead role opposite Paul Giamatti and Billy Crudup in the indie comedy Pretty Bird, written and directed by Paul Schneider and produced by Giamatti.

Wiig stars in December’s Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, the upcoming GreeneStreet film Bill, opposite Aaron Eckhart, Jessica Alba and Elizabeth Banks, and Sony’s The Brothers Solomon, opposite Will Arnett and Will Forte, which opens next month.

Wiig returns in the fall for her third season on “SNL.”
