Paramount Opens The Spellman Files

Screenwriters Bobby Florsheim and Josh Stolberg are set to adapt Lisa Lutz’s novel The Spellman Files for Paramount Pictures. Laura Ziskin (“Spider-Man” franchise) is producing the comedy.

The story revolves around a single private investigator who has to juggle the demands of running her family’s business, the needs of her extended family and her dating life.

Florsheim and Stolberg’s credits include the original screenplay of Warner Bros. comedy Man-Witch, directed by Todd Phillips and starring Jack Black. Stolberg also wrote Lionsgate’s Dane Cook-Jessica Alba starrer Good Luck Chuck, set for release on September 21.
