After making over $8 million in Monday preview screenings, Paramount/DreamWorks’ Transformers brought in $27.5 million in its first full day according to estimates, easily setting a new Tuesday box office record over Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest‘s $15.7 million made last year. It has grossed an impressive $36.3 million in just 28 hours. The Warner Bros. comedy License to Wed made a less than spectacular $2.2 million its opening day.
