Columbia Picks Up Working Girl Pitch

Columbia Pictures has acquired screenwriter Pierce Gardner’s untitled Working Girl pitch for Neal Moritz to produce.

The comedy centers on a divorced mother who is lost at her new job until she realizes that her experience dealing with spoiled toddlers gives her exactly the tools she needs to deal with spoiled executives.

Gardner was hired recently to adapt Ben Ryder Howe’s book My Korean Deli for New Line Cinema. He also co-wrote the Steve Carell-Dane Cook starrer Dan in Real Life with director Peter Hedges, which will be released in September by Touchstone Pictures.
