Simpsons ‘ Gould Sets Up Two Projects

“The Simpsons” writer/co-executive producer Dana Gould has set up a pair of projects, including a zombie comedy at Comedy Central that he’ll both write and star in, reports Variety.

On the feature front, Gould has come aboard to write Alternadad, the Warner Bros. comedy from Anonymous and Bill Gerber (The Dukes of Hazzard). The film is based on Neal Pollack memoir, which revolves around the author’s attempt to stay hip and relevant in the face of fatherhood.

The Comedy Central project is tentatively titled “The Last Larry.” Partially inspired by “Shaun of the Dead,” the half-hour show is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which the few remaining survivors are trying to get on with their lives.

Gould — who continues to perform regularly as a standup — would star in the project, which would explore how people deal with the small things in life even after something cataclysmic.
