The Mayhem Project has greenlit dance pic Make It Happen with Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse) toplining and Darren Grant (Diary of a Mad Black Woman) directing.
Variety says the movie has a July start date and will film in Winnipeg and Chicago.
The script by Duane Adler (Save the Last Dance, Step Up) revolves around a young woman from a small town who moves to Chicago with dreams of becoming a professional dancer and falls into performing at a burlesque club.
Winstead’s credits include Live Free or Die Hard, Bobby and Final Destination 3.
