Barry Sonnenfeld Opens Fox’s Box

Barry Sonnenfeld (“Men in Black” films) is in talks to direct supernatural action-adventurer The Box for 20th Century Fox, says The Hollywood Reporter. Southpaw Entertainment’s Richard Lewis is producing.

Evan Spiliotopoulos is writing the screenplay, which serves up a contemporary take on the myth of Pandora’s box.

The Box centers on a college grad with an uncertain future who is tricked into opening the mythical box, unwittingly unleashing the evils trapped within. He then must team with Pandora to save the world from destruction.

Described as summer event film, The Box is being fast-tracked by Fox.
