Cillian Murphy, Sienna Miller, Max Minghella and Emma Booth will star in Hippie Hippie Shake for Universal Pictures and Working Title.
Beeban Kidron (Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason) will direct the film, which begins shooting in fall. The project will be produced by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
Lee Hall wrote the script based on “Hippie Hippie Shake: The Dreams, the Trips, the Trials, the Love-ins, the Screw Ups: The Sixties,” a memoir by Richard Neville (to be played by Murphy).
The film will use a famous obscenity trial involving the Australian satirical magazine Oz as a metaphor for a journey through the swinging ’60s in London.
