Rose McGowan, who stars in both parts of Grindhouse, has signed to play the tragic B-movie staple Susan Cabot, reports Variety.
McGowan will star in Black Oasis, a drama written and to be directed by Stephan Elliot (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert).
Hit and Run partners Hilary Shor and Tony Smith are producing. Shooting will begin this fall.
Based on a Premiere magazine article by John H. Richardson, Black Oasis is the story of Cabot’s rise on the B-circuit (she was a favorite of director Roger Corman) and her death at the hands of son Timothy, who bludgeoned her with a weightlifting bar when she was 59.
