Bateman & Janney Join Reitman’s Juno

Jason Bateman (“Arrested Development”) and Allison Janney (“The West Wing”) have signed to co-star in director Jason Reitman’s second film Juno, joining Jennifer Garner, Michael Cera with Ellen Page playing the title character, a high school girl confronted with a teenage pregnancy. Fox Searchlight Pictures will release the Mandate Pictures produced comedy written by Diablo Cody, which is currently shooting in Vancouver.

The Hollywood Reporter mentions that despite Bateman and Cera’s father and son role on “Arrested Development,” they’ll be playing different roles in their reunion. Bateman will play the emotionally stunted husband of Garner, the two of whom are interested in adopting Juno’s unborn child, while Janney will play Juno’s stepmother and Cera will play Juno’s loyal best friend and the one responsible for her pregnancy.
