The Complete List of 2007 Oscar Winners!

Ellen DeGeneres hosted the 79th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night where the big winner with 4 Oscars was Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, which won for Picture and Director, Scorsese’s first Oscars in either category after being nominated 5 previous times. The Departed also took the Oscar for Editing and for its Adapted Screenplay by William Monahan.

The Actor and Actress awards went to Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren for playing The Last King of Scotland and The Queen, respectively.

The second-biggest winner of the night was Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, which won 3 Oscars for Art Direction, Make-Up and in an upset over “amigo” Alfonso Cuaron’s Children of Men, Guillermo Navarro took the award for Cinematography.

In turn, Del Toro’s dark fantasy lost in the Foreign Language category to the German entry, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s The Lives of Others.

Alejandro Inarritu Gonzalez’s Babel, which went into the night with 7 nominations, only went home with one award for its Original Score by Gustavo Santaolalla.

The little indie that could, Little Miss Sunshine took two awards, one for Alan Arkin in the Supporting Actor category and another for its Original Screenplay by Michael Arndt.

As expected, the Al Gore documentary An Inconvenient Truth won for Documentary Feature, but it also pulled an upset as Melissa Etheridge’s original song “I Need to Wake Up” beat no less than three songs from Dreamgirls in the Original Song category.

Despite being shut out of the category where it was the odds-on favorite, Dreamgirls did win two Oscars, one for Jennifer Hudson in the Supporting Actress category for her acting debut and another award for its Sound Mixing.
