Cars Takes the Top Annie


Disney/Pixar’s Cars won the top prize Sunday night at the 34th annual Annie Awards, but DreamWorks Animation and Aardman’s Flushed Away walked away with the most awards.

Cars scored animated feature and nabbed the music feature award for Randy Newman.

Flushed Away received five trophies: animated effects, Scott Cegielski; feature character animation, Gabe Hordos; feature production design, Pierre-Olivier Vincent; feature voice acting, Ian McKellen; and feature writing, Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais, Chris Lloyd & Joe Keenan and Will Davis.

DreamWorks’ award total hit eight as Over the Hedge captured feature character design, Nicolas Marlet; feature directing, Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick; and feature storyboarding, Gary Graham.
