Dimension Films has acquired Buried Alive, a horror film from F/X maven Robert Kurtzman, reports Variety.
Kurtzman helmed Wes Craven’s Wishmaster and was a visual effects supervisor on genre pics including Hostel and The Rage. He also was a writer on Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn.
Tobin Bell (“Saw” films) and Terence Jay star in the movie, which is close to completion. Art Monterastelli wrote the screenplay.
The story centers on a sorority hazing ritual that takes students to an abandoned house; it also involves “an empty coffin, a fatal curse and a ghost who seeks vengeance on his family’s bloodline.”
