Will Arnett is set to star in New Line’s Semi-Pro, the comedy about the waning days of the American Basketball Association, says Variety. New Line executive vice president Kent Alterman makes his directing debut on the film.
Arnett joins Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson and Andre Benjamin in a project written by Scot Armstrong (Old School) and produced by Jimmy Miller (“Talladega Nights”).
In “Semi-Pro,” Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, the owner-player-coach of the fictional Flint, Mich., Tropics. Arnett plays team announcer Lou Redwood.
Arnett and Ferrell star in the upcoming Paramount-DreamWorks comedy Blades of Glory, directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck.
