Gold Circle Acquires The New Daughter

Gold Circle Films has acquired John Travis’ horror thriller spec script The New Daughter, based on a John Connolly short story, reports Variety.

Gold Circle will fully finance the project, adapted from Connolly’s recent collection, “Nocturnes.” The script concerns a single father who moves his two children to a home in rural Illinois near a burial mound that may be the key to his daughter’s increasingly ominous behavior.

Gold Circle’s Paul Brooks will produce, with the company’s Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt executive producing.

Gary Oldman recently optioned Travis’ supernatural thriller “Redwood” as a vehicle to produce and star in. Connolly’s novel “Bad Men” is being adapted by Stephen Susco and Sobini Films into the film Sanctuary.
