Columbia Pictures and Neal Moritz’s Original Pictures have hired screenwriting duo Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to take a new crack at a remake of The Tingler, a Vincent Price 1959 horror film about a mad scientist who can scare people to death, reports Variety.
The two writers sparked their career when their script Feast was produced by Dimension on reality series “Project Greenlight.” Since then, they’ve sold two more scripts to the studio, including Midnight Man and The Neighbor.
In the original “Tingler,” Price’s character discovers a creature that attacks people from inside when they are afraid.
