Kim Basinger Boards The Nice Guys Opposite Crowe and Gosling

Shane Black’s upcoming 1970s film noir, The Nice Guys, has, according to The Hollywood Reporter, added Academy Award winner Kim Basinger to its cast. Basigner joins leading men Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, the former of whom she previously co-starred with in Curtis Hanson’s own Los Angeles-set noir, LA Confidential.

Also set to star Matt Bomer, Keith David, Beau Knapp, Angourie Rice and Margaret Qualley, The Nice Guys is set in 1970s Los Angeles and pairs an ex-fighter (Crowe) and a private detective (Gosling) as they attempt to solve a murder.

Basinger, who recently starred in I Am Here and Four Minute Mile, will play a crooked Chief Justice. The film itself, scripted by both Black and Anthony Bagarozzi, hits theaters on June 17, 2016.
