Shrek Helmer Targets Dark Horse Comics’ Breath of Bones

Andrew Adamson, whose credits include the first two entries in both the Shrek and Chronicles of Narnia franchises, is set to helm the fantasy tale Breath of Bones, says a story today at The Hollywood Reporter. The film will adapt the three-issue Dark Horse comic book miniseries written by Steve Niles and Matt Santoro with art by Dave Watcher. Published in 2012, the first issue of the series is officially described as follows:

While a town flees from advancing Germans, one young boy stays behind to protect their homes. With the help of a golem brought to life by the boy’s grandfather’s faith — and death — the battle begins for their freedom and future.

Adamson and his Strange Weather producing parter, Aron Warner, will also produce alongside Dark Horse’s Keith Goldberg and Mike Richardson. Strange Weather’s Jeff Fierson will executive produce.
