Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss is Back in a New Still from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

A new image of Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen has debuted via EW today as part of a report that looks into the much-anticipated, two-film franchise finale that begins with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 on November 21 and concludes next year with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. In it, director Francis Lawrence informs fans that the films will offer “two different, very distinct stories.”

“Instead of changing the plot and changing characters what we did was have the opportunity to show scenes that could have been happening at different times in the book,” says Francis Lawrence of the split. “For us it’s world expansion instead of changing things. I think it?s exciting for the fan to see certain things. So we’ve been able to open the world up in this and see some new places. We get to see some new districts this time and the scope gets quite large.”

Also starring Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, Evan Ross, Gwendoline Christie, Patina Miller, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson, Robert Knepper, Michelle Forbes and Eugenie Bondurant, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. It follows Katniss’ (Lawrence) journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
