2:52

Comment From MarvelWatch

Been a few years since Paramount last showed up… think we’re in for any big (or little) surprises?

2:52

ComingSoon.net: Yep!

2:53

Comment From Spyros

hello, do you think there’s a chance we will see something from Terminator 5?

2:53

Comment From Lucien

I would LOVE IT if Matt McConaughey turned up and debuted some Interstellar footage… and maybe a new still (of Hathaway, perhaps, of whom we’ve seen very little?)

2:53

ComingSoon.net: Terminator and Interstellar are definitely possible.

2:53

Comment From SupesFan

Any word or hint on what could be up their sleeve?

2:53

ComingSoon.net: No, they’ve been very quiet. 🙂

2:54

Comment From @ThisMyShow

My guess TMNT, Project Almanac, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Spongebob 2, Scouts vs Zombies, Interstellar

2:55

Comment From Guest

When does this start?

2:55

ComingSoon.net: It’s supposed to start in 5 minutes, but things have been slightly behind.

2:55

Comment From Rutiger Smoot

Didn’t you guys report last week that a new trailer for Interstellar has been rated?

2:55

ComingSoon.net: Yup!

2:55

Comment From Lucien

Don’t forget that Hercules is out TONIGHT!

2:55

ComingSoon.net: Are you from Paramount? 🙂

2:56

Comment From Rutiger Smoot

Who is in the hall for comingsoon?

2:56

ComingSoon.net: Silas will be on shortly.

2:56

Comment From TheBeardedBatman

I say this every year but, I love you guys over at CS for doing this!! This is the greatest thing ever for someone like me who doesnt live in the US and cant go to Comic-Con. Now let the awesomeness begin!

2:56

ComingSoon.net: Yeah baby, yeah!

2:57

Comment From Guest

Coming soon, your awesome!

2:59

Comment From dan

Anyone else been visiting ComingSoon since 1998? Here.

2:59

Comment From Guest

Is that trailer for SpongeBob coming soon?

2:59

ComingSoon.net: Sounds like it.

3:00

Comment From Guest

you guys have the best coverage

3:01

Silas Lesnick: Hi everyone!

3:02

ComingSoon.net: Take it away Silas!

3:02

Silas Lesnick: Tom Kenny, Mr. Spongebob Squarepants, has take the stage!

3:02

Silas Lesnick: THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER 3D is the full title of their new film, currently showing off its logo.

3:03

Silas Lesnick: Kenny says that we’ll see familiar characters as superheroes

3:03

Silas Lesnick: They’ve got a parody of The Avengers poster called “Spongers”

3:03

Silas Lesnick: They’ll be giving the poster away at the Paramount booth

3:03

Silas Lesnick: They’re about to show footage, so I’ll be back in a second

3:04

Comment From Timdiana

The film comes out next year, correct?

3:04

Spencer Perry-SHH: February 6 of next year

3:06

Comment From MarvelWatch

Ah, there’s Spencer! Was wondering when you were gonna show up.

3:06

Spencer Perry-SHH: I’m always lurking about…

3:06

ComingSoon.net: Scary.

3:08

ComingSoon.net: Getting a lot of questions about Terminator, Mission: Impossible 5, etc. The panel just started and they are doing SpongeBob right now. We’ll know more soon.

3:08

Silas Lesnick: It looks like we’ll get a bit of live-action in this one! The characters, at one point, travel to the “real” world as the superhero versions of themselves

3:09

Silas Lesnick: The basic plot revolves around someone stealing the Krusty Krab recipe, sending Bikini Bottom into a MAD MAX-like post-apocalypse.

3:09

Silas Lesnick: Naturally, Spongebob and friends have to save the day.

3:09

Spencer Perry-SHH: That sounds amazing

3:09

Silas Lesnick: We moved immediately into TMNT with Kevin Eastman taking the stage.

3:10

ComingSoon.net: Here’s the first SpongeBob photo – http://www.gannett-cdn.com/…

3:10

Silas Lesnick: They showed a brief featurette-style video about the franchise’s origins and how the turtles were originally created.

3:10

Silas Lesnick: Eastman says he’s seen the movie and loved it.

3:10

Silas Lesnick: “I think you guys are absolutely going to flip out when you see it,” he says.

3:11

Silas Lesnick: They’re talking about some of the con events going on, including a life-size working pizza thrower vehicle!

3:11

Silas Lesnick: Director Jonathan Liebsman has arrived with producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.

3:12

Comment From DuckNation

so are they really going to shoot pizza out of it?

3:12

Silas Lesnick: I’ve heard that they’re foam pizzas 🙂

3:12

Silas Lesnick: Fuller is showing off an autograph he got for his son from Eastman 21 years ago.

3:13

Comment From Jesse Gendelman

Did they do spongebob already?

3:13

Silas Lesnick: Yeah, Spongebob was pretty much just the trailer.

3:14

Silas Lesnick: Apparently Shredder was very nearly named The Grater after one night of doing dishes and thinking a cheese grater was a painful weapon.

3:15

Silas Lesnick: They’re about to show two clips from TMNT

3:15

Comment From Jeff

Any idea when the trailer will be available for us unfortunate people not at Comic-Con?

3:15

ComingSoon.net: They haven’t said yet.

3:18

Comment From Jesse Gendelman

Will spongebob trailer be attached to teenage mutant ninja turtles at theaters except comic con?

3:18

ComingSoon.net: That makes the most sense, yes.

3:19

Comment From J P Dave

INTERSTELLAR INTERSTELLAR INTERSTELLAR

3:19

ComingSoon.net: We hear ya!

3:21

Comment From jesse

mr nolan is being very secrative

3:22

Spencer Perry-SHH: His specialty

3:23

Comment From Tyler

I have arrived! Have I missed anything exciting?

3:23

Spencer Perry-SHH: Oh, only EVERYTHING

3:23

Silas Lesnick: Will Arnett and Megan Fox have come onstage!

3:23

Silas Lesnick: We got to see this first scene last week, although we were light on the details at Paramount’s request: https://www.comingsoon.net/n…

3:24

Silas Lesnick: But now the scene is even longer than a week ago, giving us our first look at Splinter!

3:24

Silas Lesnick: Set about ten minutes into the film, we follow April O’Neil into the subway where Foot soldiers are taking a subway platform hostage.

3:25

Silas Lesnick: She tries to take pictures, but the thugs notice and move in on her.

3:25

Silas Lesnick: Just then, a train pulls in and, atop it, are the turtles.

3:25

Silas Lesnick: They make short work of the Foot Soldiers, but are in and out so quickly that no one really seems to know what’s happening.

3:26

Silas Lesnick: April’s on the ball, though, and races from the subway stop, climbing a ladder to a rooftop.

3:26

Silas Lesnick: She spies on the turtles, who are celebrating their victory.

3:26

Silas Lesnick: She tries to take a photo, but they notice and approach her, pretending to threaten her to get her phone.

3:27

Silas Lesnick: There’s a LOT of pop culture reference. Michelangelo jokes that Raph is using his “Batman” voice.

3:27

Comment From Tom

Are the foot soldiers actually ninjas or are they mercenaries?

3:27

Silas Lesnick: Ninjas! Led by Karai!

3:28

Silas Lesnick: We see a bit of the Turtles’ lair, too. They’ve got a ton of monitors set up to monitor crime around the city.

3:28

Silas Lesnick: They also watch internet videos and Keyboard Cat makes a cameo!

3:28

Silas Lesnick: The turtles can’t get enough of Keyboard Cat playing Chopsticks with actual chopsticks.

3:29

Silas Lesnick: We get a brief moment of Splinter. Apparently a bit later, the turtles have brought April to their lair.

3:29

Silas Lesnick: Interestingly enough, Splinter says to her, “It’s been a long time”.

3:29

Comment From DuckNation

now imma go watch keyboard cat

3:30

Silas Lesnick: I actually tried to find the chopsticks video last week and didn’t see it!

3:30

Silas Lesnick: As a kid that grew up with TMNT, I still find their looks a bit off, but the voices work pretty well. It sounds like the turtles I know!

3:31

Comment From Timdiana

So Karai is in the film.

3:31

Silas Lesnick: Yep! Played by Minae Noji!

3:32

Comment From Guest

Is Leo’s voice good or does it sound like Teenage Mutant Ninja Jackass?

3:32

Silas Lesnick: Knoxville is doing a “serious” voice and he honestly sounds great.

3:32

Silas Lesnick: I don’t think I would even think it was him if I didn’t already know.

3:39

Silas Lesnick: A second clip shows off a massive chase scene down a snowy mountain.

3:40

Silas Lesnick: Lots of turtles doing a luge with their shells and April and Vernon driving an 18 wheeler straight down a mountain.

3:40

Silas Lesnick: Raph’s shell appears to be cracked from something that happened earlier, but the other three get some great moments, especially Donatello.

3:41

Silas Lesnick: “Allow me to be the badass for once,” he tells Raph, leaping out of a moving truck and flipping a car, using momentum to flip it.

3:42

Comment From Mikey

is any recording this stuff? or is video not allowed?

3:42

Spencer Perry-SHH: No videos allowed

3:44

Comment From Guest

How much time is left in the panel?

3:44

Spencer Perry-SHH: About 15 more minutes

3:45

Comment From Roey

Will you have this love blog for all the panels?

3:46

Spencer Perry-SHH: Not all, but the big ones for sure! WB, Marvel, Legendary

3:47

Silas Lesnick: They’ve moved on to ALMANAC, showing off a key scene

3:47

Silas Lesnick: The characters — a group of teens — travel through time for the first time.

3:47

Silas Lesnick: It’s unclear how they do it, but they’re filming the experiment, leading to the film’s “found footage” look

3:48

Comment From DuckNation

no Sony? are they even having one?

3:48

Spencer Perry-SHH: That was earlier! https://www.comingsoon.net/n…

3:48

Silas Lesnick: When they travel, it causes some sort of interference with the weather, making swirling wind and debris

3:49

Silas Lesnick: But it works!

3:49

Silas Lesnick: They travel back one night and sneak into one of their own houses, finding themselves sleeping in bed

3:49

Silas Lesnick: The kid draws a smiley on his own unconscious neck and we see it appear on his own as he does it.

3:50

Silas Lesnick: The kid begins to wake up, though and something goes wrong.

3:50

Silas Lesnick: As he sees himself, both versions of him start to flicker in and out of existence

3:50

Silas Lesnick: They get out of there, though, and he appears to be fine immediately after.

3:50

Silas Lesnick: The vibe is very much CHRONICLE with time travel as a superpower

3:51

Silas Lesnick: There’s a secret SDCC screening of the movie in its entirety tonight!

3:51

Silas Lesnick: I’ll be there with William Bibbiani of CraveOnline and we’ll have a video reaction for you soon after the 11pm screening.

3:51

Silas Lesnick: They’ve moved on to HERCULES with Dwayne Johnson making surprise experience!

3:52

Silas Lesnick: He just ran through Hall H giving high fives and has invited everyone to join him at a screening of that film, too!

3:52

Silas Lesnick: If you want to make the screening, pay attention to Johnson’s Twitter. He’ll reveal the location at 5pm PST.

3:53

Comment From DuckNation

Project Almanac? was that the film you were just talking about?

3:53

Silas Lesnick: Yes, PROJECT ALMANAC, sorry.

3:53

Comment From bg

Any clue about his picture of shazam and black adam he posted on his twitter?

3:53

Silas Lesnick: I think we’ll have to wait for the WB panel on that one 🙂

3:53

Silas Lesnick: But there are quite few people shouting “Shazam!” right now in the audience!

3:54

Comment From Alaisdair

when is the WB panel?

3:54

Spencer Perry-SHH: 10 AM PST on Saturday.

3:54

Silas Lesnick: “Hey, you don’t worry about my profile picture, punk!” he jokes.

3:55

Silas Lesnick: “You can always tell the passionate fans from the ones who have been smoking weed since 12,” he jokes of the repeated “Shazam!”s

3:55

Silas Lesnick: Clark Duke has now taken the stage for some kind of surprise!

3:55

ComingSoon.net: Hot Tub Time Machine 2.

3:56

Silas Lesnick: Here comes the first ever scene from HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2!

3:56

Silas Lesnick: “If you only see one HOT TUB TIME MACHINE movie this year, make sure it’s this one,” he says.

3:57

Spencer Perry-SHH: For those asking: Tomorrow we have live blogs for Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Marvel Television, and FOX.

Saturday is WB at 10 and Marvel at 5:30

3:57

ComingSoon.net: And Legendary.

3:57

Spencer Perry-SHH: Them too 🙂

3:58

Comment From Guest

When will the Legendary Panel be?

3:58

Spencer Perry-SHH: Saturday at 12:25 pm PST

3:59

Comment From Guest

What about Universal or Disney?

3:59

Spencer Perry-SHH: Both of them decided to skip this year

4:00

Silas Lesnick: The INTERSTELLAR trailer has just started!

4:02

Silas Lesnick: This is an extended trailer, although there’s no new footage. It’s the first trailer with lots of additional real-world footage of famous astronauts and astrophysicists.

4:02

Silas Lesnick: Matthew McConaughey has made a surprise appearance! His first Comic-Con!

4:03

Comment From JT

Alright! Alright! Alright!

4:03

Silas Lesnick: He actually just said that to much applause!

4:04

Silas Lesnick: He says that, when he left his first meeting with Christopher Nolan, he wasn’t even sure what it was for. He got the script a week later and knew he was in.

4:04

Silas Lesnick: He plays Cooper. A pilot and engineer. He’s a widowed father of two children.

4:04

Silas Lesnick: It’s the future and humanity is simply sustaining itself. It’s not in a place where it can pursue the stars.

4:04

Silas Lesnick: He’s asked to take on this mission, but it means that he has to leave his kids.

4:05

Silas Lesnick: “That’s all I’m saying for right now,” he grins.

4:05

Silas Lesnick: He says it felt like an indie film. There were rarely more than two or three takes.

4:06

Silas Lesnick: “It’s by far the most ambitious film that Mr. Nolan has ever directed. When you see it, you’ll see why.”

4:06

Silas Lesnick: They’re about to bring out a surprise guest…

4:06

Silas Lesnick: Christopher Nolan!

4:08

Silas Lesnick: He says he’s never come in the past because it just hasn’t worked out with release dates, but he’s very happy to be here.

4:08

Silas Lesnick: He had to “see what the fuss was all about”.

4:09

Silas Lesnick: He says that he’s always loved science fiction and that he grew up in a time where being an astronaut was man’s highest ambition.

4:09

Silas Lesnick: He feels that has fallen off over the years.

4:09

Silas Lesnick: “I really like the idea — and I hope it’s true — that we’re on the edge of a brand new era.”

4:09

Silas Lesnick: He says that the journey is ultimately to a whole other galaxy.

4:10

Spencer Perry-SHH: Any talking raccoons in that movie?

4:10

Silas Lesnick: Getting space travel absolutely right is really important and he promises that they’ve gone all out with various filmmaking techniques

4:11

Silas Lesnick: IMAX was, again, extremely important for him.

4:12

Silas Lesnick: “We’re trying to show the biggest possible images,” he says, “… to do that, you need the biggest canvas possible.”

4:13

Silas Lesnick: They’re nearly out of time, but are going to field a couple of audience questions.

4:14

Silas Lesnick: Asked about the research involved, Nolan says that Kip Thorne has been a part of the film and has been an incredible help.

4:14

Silas Lesnick: Asked about what sci-fi films inspired him, Nolan says he doesn’t want to give a list because we’ll know exactly who he ripped off.

4:15

Silas Lesnick: He does list STAR WARS, 2001 and BLADE RUNNER, but seems to say 2001 was the biggest influence on this one.

4:15

Silas Lesnick: His goal is to tell “a similarly ambitious story”/

4:16

ComingSoon.net: Here’s that Red Band trailer for Hot Tub Time Machine 2 – https://www.comingsoon.net/n…

4:17

Silas Lesnick: There’s a new trailer coming “fairly soon” they’re about to show!

4:20

Silas Lesnick: “We used to look up and wonder about our place in the stars,” says Cooper, “Now we look down and worry about our place in the dirt.”

4:21

Silas Lesnick: LOTS of other space stuff in the trailer, including astronauts landing and walking across other (uninhabited) worlds.

4:22

Silas Lesnick: There’s a lot with Cooper saying goodbye to his daughter and it’s heavily hinted that Chastain is, indeed, the adult version of her.

4:22

Silas Lesnick: “We’re coming back,” Cooper tells her.

4:22

Silas Lesnick: The trailer ends with Michael Caine reciting Dylan Thomas.

4:23

Silas Lesnick: “Do not go gentle into that good night”

4:23

Silas Lesnick: “Old age should burn and rave at close of day”

4:23

Silas Lesnick: “Rage, rage against the dying of the light”

4:23

Silas Lesnick: It’s a pretty great trailer and shows off a glimpse at the 2001 influence

4:24

Silas Lesnick: I think we can expect a lot of real-world astronomy that we just haven’t seen on the big screen before.

4:24

Comment From Rutiger Smoot

How do the other worlds look?

4:24

Silas Lesnick: Rocky! There’s also something bizarre on one of them that MIGHT be alien

4:25

Silas Lesnick: Sort of a big silvery TETRIS block that seems to fly at the camera

4:26

Silas Lesnick: That’s it for Paramount.
