‘Joker Thug’ David Dastmalchian Joins the Cast of Ant-Man

Deadline reports that The Dark Knight actor David Dastmalchian has joined the cast of Ant-Man in an unspecified role. Dastmalchian is most well known for playing one of the many “Joker Thugs” in the 2008 Christopher Nolan film but also last year’s Prisoners, in which he played a suspect in a child abduction opposite Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. He joins a cast that includes Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Patrick Wilson and Corey Stoll.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Set to be directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man is scheduled for release on July 17, 2015.
