Teresa Palmer Targets Point Break Reboot

Teresa Palmer is in negotiations to star in Alcon Entertainment’s Point Break remake, it was announced by Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.

Palmer joins previously-announced cast members Edgar Ramirez (who stars as Bodhi, played by Patrick Swayze in the original) and Luke Bracey (who will portray Johnny Utah, played by Keanu Reeves in the original).

Set in the world of international heists and extreme sports, the story is about a young FBI agent (Bracey) who goes undercover to infiltrate a criminal gang suspected of committing unfathomably sophisticated heists all over the world.

Palmer recently starred in LionsgateÂ’ hit zombie comedy Warm Bodies. She will next be seen in Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups alongside Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman. Palmer is currently filming John Hillcoat’s Triple Nine for Open Road Films whose ensemble cast includes Kate Winslet, Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B. Jordan, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot and Michael Pena.

Ericson Core (Invincible) is directing Point Break from a script by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen). Kosove and Johnson will produce along with John Baldecchi, Chris Taylor and Wimmer. RGM Media principal Devesh Chetty and investor John McMurrick, Chairman of Marloss Entertainment, will serve as executive producers.

Principal photography is set to begin on June 26 and filming locations span four continents and include Germany, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Venezuela, French Polynesia, and India.
