Keanu Reeves Signs Up for The Whole Truth

Keanu Reeves has joined Frozen River director Courtney Hunt’s courtroom drama The Whole Truth, replacing Daniel Craig just two months after his departure. Reeves will play the role of a defense attorney for a teenager accused of murdering his wealthy family, joining the current cast of Renee Zellwegger, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Gabriel Bosso.

Written by Nicholas Kazan (Bicentennial Man), the production was about to begin production in April when Craig left quite suddenly, but things are back on for the film to begin shooting in New Orleans starting in July. Originally the film was going to be set and shot in Boston, but now Reeves will play a Southern-based lawyer rather than one based in New England.

Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and financier PalmStar Entertainment’s Kevin Frakes are producing the movie, following the wrap of production on American Ultra (also in New Orleans), and they reunite with Reeves following 2005’s Thumbsucker and the yet-to-be-released action movie John Wick. Richard Suckle and Charles Roven are executive producing.
