Neighbors and Now You See Me star Dave Franco is set to play the lead in The Intern’s Handbook, an upcoming adaptation of the just-released thriller novel by Shane Kuhn. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, bringing word that Sony Pictures is developing the property (the book is the first entry in a planned trilogy) as a potential franchise.
Published last month, The Intern’s Handbook is officially described as follows:

John Lago is a very bad guy. But hes the very best at what he does. And what he does is infiltrate top-level companies and assassinate crooked executives while disguised as an intern.

At the ripe old age of almost twenty-five, John Lago is already New York Citys most successful hit man. Hes also an intern at a prestigious Manhattan law firm, clocking eighty hours a week getting coffee, answering phones, and doing all the grunt work actual employees are too lazy to do. He was hired to assassinate one of the firms heavily guarded partners. His internship provides the perfect cover, enabling him to gather intel and gain access to pull off a clean, untraceable hit.
Part confessional, part DIY manual, The Interns Handbook chronicles Johns final assignment, a twisted thrill ride in which he is pitted against the toughestand sexiestadversary hes ever faced: Alice, an FBI agent assigned to take down the same law partner hes been assigned to kill.
Original Film’s Ori Marmur and Neal Mortiz will produce alongside Circle of Confusions David Alpert and Brad Mendelsohn. Kuhn himself will serve as executive producer with Lauren Abrahams, Eric Fineman and Hannah Minghella overseeing for the studio.
