You might not remember this, but “Mad Men” star Elisabeth Moss dabbled in horror when she starred in an episode of “Fear Itself” called “Eater” by Stuart Gordon. She’s set to return to the genre with There Are Monsters, a film that will be directed by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers).
The news out of Cannes, courtesy of Screen Daily, which says the film concerns a mother and daughter who are terrorized by a monster.
Since The Strangers, Bertino has tried to get a few projects off of the ground. He helmed a found footage film for Blumhouse Productions called Mockingbird, but that film has been sitting on the shelf awaiting release.
Bertino penned the script for There Are Monsters, which is being produced by Richard Suckle, Adrienne Biddle and Sonny Mallhi. Pre-production begins this fall.
