Fast & Furious: Supercharged is Coming to Universal Studios Hollywood

An attraction based on the hit The Fast and the Furious franchise is heading to Universal Pictures Hollywood in 2015! The New York Times broke the news today in a story about the park’s planned overhaul, already announced to incorporate a West Coast take on “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” while Universal debuted on their Facebook page a first image of “Fast & Furious: Supercharged”. “Fast & Furious—Supercharged” will be a new finale to the Studio Tour. The ride will catapult guests into the high-stakes underground world of fast cars, having them join the cast in a harrowing escapade. The ride will be situated within a newly constructed 50,000 square foot building on the legendary backlot and will reunite stars from the “Fast & Furious” series for the attraction, conceived as a new installment to the film series.

“We’re going to make it feel like those trams are being pulled through the streets at speeds of over 100 miles per hour,” Chick Russell, an executive producer for Universal Creative, tells The New York Times.

2015 will also see the big screen release of director James Wan’s Fast & Furious 7, which hits theaters April 10 with a cast that includes Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Tony Jaa, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou, Lucas Black, John Brotherton and the late Paul Walker.
