Anthony Mackie Talks Desire for Avengers: Age of Ultron Appearance

The cast for Marvel Studios’ upcoming behemoth Avengers: Age of Ultron has already grown significantly from its predecessor. Set to include several new characters from the Marvel U, it’s been rumored that we might also see some of the supporting characters from previous films as well, namely Don Cheadle as James Rhodes. But what about Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon? Mackie makes his debut as the character in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and given the character’s association with The Avengers in the comic books, it’s not a stretch to think he might appear.

“I call all of them at Marvel every Monday,” Mackie told Total Film. “I’m like, ‘So have y’all decided if I’m in Avengers 2 yet? I’ll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow!’ I wanted to be a superhero from the first day that I started in this business, and to have the opportunity to be a superhero is kind of remarkable. If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there’s no way I would complain or balk at any part of that…”

Uncertainty of an “Avengers” appearance aside, Mackie did confirm appearances in future “Captain America” films to the magazine. Do you want to see The Falcon in Avengers: Age of Ultron? Sound off below!

Written and directed once again by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
