Vampire Academy Will Be Unleashed One Week Earlier

Fans of Richelle Mead’s series of young adult paranormal romance novels can get a little more excited as The Weinstein Company, in a series of release date shuffles, has decided to release their upcoming Vampire Academy one week earlier than planned on February 7.

Directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) and starring Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovsky, Sarah Hyland, Joely Richardson, Claire Foy and more, the movie was originally going to be released on Valentine’s Day proper, but that date was already getting pretty crowded with three other romance movies: About Last Night, Endless Love and Winter’s Tale.

Instead, Vampire Academy will be offered as counter-programming to The LEGO Movie, which seems like a better fit especially for the fans of the books who probably can’t wait to see their favorite characters on the screen.

At the same time, The Weinstein Company took the Nicole Kidman-starrer Grace of Monaco off their schedule for a second time and they pushed the movie about “Britain’s Got Talent” winner Paul Potts, One Chance, back a month to Grace of Monaco‘s original date of March 14.
