The project first announced in November, Warner Bros. and New Line are moving forward with Annabelle, a spinoff of last year’s The Conjuring based on the James Wan film’s demonic doll. The coincidentally-named Annabelle Wallis (“Peaky Blinders”) will join Ward Horton (“One Life to Live”) for the leading roles.
The Conjuring cinematographer John Leonetti is directing the feature from a script by Gary Gauberman. Peter Safran will produce with Wan executive producing.
Even though Annabelle is moving forward, a more direct sequel to The Conjuring is also in the works with Chad and Carey Hayes returning to provide the screenplay.
