Helena Bonham Carter is in talks to join Carey Mulligan in Suffragette, reports Variety. Sarah Gavron will direct the Pathe Films and Film4 project.
According to the trade, the film is based on true events and “revolves around the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement: women who were forced underground in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.”
Faye Ward and Alison Owen will produce and Film4’s Katherine Butler and Pathe’s Cameron McCracken will executive produce.
