Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens Knighted for Night at Museum 3 Role

Director Shawn Levy’s Night at the Museum 3 has found its first all-new character, Sir Lancelot, in Dan Stevens. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, saying that the “Downton Abbey” star will join the returning Ben Stiller and Robin Williams.

A living museum version of the figure of Arthurian legend, Lancelot is said to be be the film’s chief antagonist.

The third film in the franchise (the first film earned $574.5 million worldwide and the second one took in $413.1 million) will start shooting in February for a December 25, 2014 release.

Expected to be set in London, Night at the Museum 3 is written by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. It is not known if other stars from the previous films, such as Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria and Christopher Guest, will return as well.
