Lava Bear and producer David S. Goyer have hired Jason Zada to direct The Forest (previously the “Untitled David Goyer” project) which has been rewritten by Sarah Cornwell. Based on an original idea by Goyer, this supernatural horror film will be set in the Aokigahara forest of Japan.
Zada is an acclaimed director of innovative, ground breaking commercials and music videos. His credits include directing and writing interactive short Take This Lollipop. In 2011, Take This Lollipop appeared virally on YouTube and in less than a week, had been viewed 7 million times, and quickly garnered more than 13 million “likes” on Facebook. You can check it out here.
The film is set for production in the first half of 2014. Goyer and Lava Bear will produce. Tory Metzger, President of Lava Bear, will oversee the production.
