Lizzy Caplan is set to join Seth Rogen and James Franco in the upcoming Columbia Pictures comedy The Interview, Variety reports. The film, which marks the second directorial effort from Rogen and Evan Goldberg after this summer’s This Is the End, is slated for release on October 10, 2014.
Based on a story by Goldberg, Rosen and Dan Sterling, The Interview follows a talk show host and producer pair who find themselves caught up in an assassination attempt against the political leader of North Korea.
Caplan, best known for roles on “Party Down” and “True Blood,” headlines the new Showtime drama “Masters of Sex” alongside Michael Sheen. On the big screen, Caplan has notably appeared in Cloverfield, Hot Time Time Machine and, recently, Bachelorette.
