Kelsey Grammer is the latest name to join the cast of Lionsgate’s currently-shooting The Expendables 3, Deadline reports. He’ll play an ex-mercenary by the name of Bonaparte, a role that the outlet claims was initially offered to Nicolas Cage.
Grammer, already set for a 2014 blockbuster sequel with a role in Transformers: Age of Extinction, joins stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell with Patrick Hughes directing.
The third installment of the action franchise is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2014.
