Rob Lowe to Join Cameron Diaz and Jason Segal for Sex Tape

Rob Lowe is the latest name to join the cast of director Jake Kasdan’s upcoming comedy Sex Tape, Deadline reports. The “Parks and Recreation” star is set to star opposite Jason Segel, Cameron Diaz, Rob Corddry and Jack Black.

Set for a July 2, 2014, Sex Tape follows a couple who take a night off from their kids to make a sex tape which they end up losing.

Lowe, who recently appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s telefilm Behind the Candelabra, will play the conservative head of a Toy Company who accidentally winds up with the titular sex tape.

Based on a screenplay from Kate Angelo with Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producing under their Escape Artists banner. The comedy is expected to start production in the fall to allow Diaz to take on the role of Miss Hanigan in Sony’s Annie remake.
