Ben Affleck Has Begun Training to Become Batman

Though production on “The Untitled Zack Snyder Super Hero Film,” which is what the studio is currently calling the Superman/Batman movie, won’t begin production until sometime next year, actor Ben Affleck has already started getting in shape for the role. US Weekly reports that the actor is spending two hours a day in the gym to get his physique ready for the role, and if it’s anything like stars Henry Cavill and Antje Traue’s work outs, it is pretty intense.

It was announced last night that Affleck will take on the iconic role in the Zack Snyder-directed film. In addition, Man of Steel‘s Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the film along with co-stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

The new film is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Zack Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers. It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
