Joseph Kosinski Looks to The Twilight Zone

TRON: Legacy and Oblivion helmer Joseph Kosinski is about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. The Wrap is reporting that there’s a signpost up ahead. His next stop? The Twilight Zone.

Although a new big screen take on the classic sci-fi anthology series has been in the work for some time from Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions, there have been few updates since Matt Reeves’ name was connected to the project in 2011. He wound up taking on next year’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes instead (the franchise of which shares a common creator in Rod Serling).

The original “Twilight Zone” series ran for five seasons starting in 1959 on CBS, with Serling creating the series and writing more than half of the 156 episodes. Steven Spielberg and John Landis produced and directed segments for the 1983 WB feature film, Twilight Zone: The Movie.

The new film features a screenplay by Jason Rothenberg, Anthony Peckham and Joby Harold. DiCaprio is producing alongside Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Michael Ireland, while Matt Cherniss will executive produce.
