Comic-Con: The Crow Remake is Heading to San Diego, Calls on Creator for Consultation

Here’s a San Diego Comic-Con surprise. It appears Relativity’s remake of The Crow will be in attendance.

According to Variety, director F. Javier Gutiérrez is going to take the stage with James O’Barr, creator of The Crow.

O’Barr has boarded the redo – which has seen directors and actors come and go – as a consultant. Shooting will begin in 2014 with a script by Cliff Dorfman.

“It is important for Crow fans to understand that Relativity, Javier, Luke and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself,” said O’Barr in a statement. “I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project.”

Luke Evans was cast to play the eponymous character in May.
