Jamie Foxx Talks The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Jamie Foxx’s casting in The Amazing Spider-Man sequel has been quite devisive amongst fans. For better or worse, the actor will be bringing a fan favorite villain, Electro, to the big screen for the first time and Foxx is having a good time doing it.

“Oh, man ― it’s so much fun,” the actor told Yahoo! Movies. “The costume is great. They were very creative with it. It’s part of a remarkable legacy: Spider-Man. I mean, when you’re growing up as a kid, you know, that’s everything. So to be able to be in that is just amazing.”

The actor also confirmed that footage from the upcoming sequel will be shown off at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International!

“Now I’m just waiting to get to Comic-Con and see how people respond to it,” Foxx said. “Marc Webb is a genius and Amy Pascal and everybody at Sony have just be so gracious to allow me to have this opportunity. So it’s cool.”

In the 2014 sequel, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Also starring Shailene Woodley, Colm Feore, Sally Field and Chris Cooper, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
